We designed and produced an open-source hardware and software solution for Lush Spa that delivers lighting and sound in sync to complement their specialist massage treatments.
The solution includes a media player device, server programming, using a Docker-based containerised architecture to simplify operations and software updates, lighting integration using DMX and Philips Hue and audio integration using immersive Dolby surround sound.
The system is deployed on the Google Cloud Platform.
This exciting and innovative project showcases the best of the Ishiki Lab skills in solving with simplicity a difficult system integration challenge.
There is no commercial solution that can achieve sound and light synchronisation with the capability to synchronise media content globally, and with this project Lush Spa therapists are able to choose, play, pause and stop multisensory treatments with an easy-to-use tablet based user interface and an extremely cost effective open hardware media player.
